So you being your fisrt JOB- the begining of your long career in Fashion... When I say long I mean it! Long hours of hard work, a year will feel like you've been doing this for 5 yrs. When you start your fisrt job I would recomemd you stay hungry for knowledge and open to new ideas, Sometumes in school we are thought that Fashion is supposed to be a certain way but as you will quickly learn that there are many ways to do things and we all have to flexiable. Here are a few things that will catch your bosses eye.
1. Be on time- try to be there before your boss and organize your self before she/he gets in.
2. Get your self a journal/notebook write everything they tell you to do because you will have so many projects going at the time, that you will forget specifics if you don't write them down.
3. Ask questions if you are not clear- never assume anything because you will make a fool of your self if you're not correct.
4. Be humble and sweat- You have to work with a lot of people, from sewers, patternmakets, vendors, contractors, etc. and is best if you develop an amicable relationship with them, You will get done a lot more if people like you, and like working with you.
5. Always say please and thank you. Simple you might say but in this industry you come across really rude and you don't want to add to the statics!!
So Good luck!! Dive in- Take all in-!!! This is what you wanted to do, now love it and enjoy it!!
